- Be honest: what are some rules you have for yourself that don’t really make much sense? TheMister would probably be able to answer this question for me better than I can, but I will try. For starters, I have to eat all the vegetables on my plate before I eat anything else. I have to have my radio, TV and computer volume set at an even number to feel normal. I can’t work if my desk, dresser or any other table drawers are open.
- What rules of questionable sense did your parents have for you when you were young? I had to eat all of the vegetables on my plate before I was allowed to eat anything else. This has progressed into adulthood and my parents find it very amusing. I wasn’t allowed to chew gum. I had to go to bed very early for kids my age (sometimes as early as 7:30 when I was 10 years old!) I couldn’t pierce my ears until I was 18. I had a 10pm curfew through all of high school. My parents were pretty strict, actually.
- What’s a rule most people (if not all people) seem never to obey? Uhm, probably using turn signals. After moving to San Francisco, I have been introduced to many bad drivers. It’s insane!
- There are no rules governing the giving and receiving of Valentine’s Day gifts, but what rules should there be? The rule? The rule should be that there can be no pressure on this day. Seriously, I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day and think that it’s blown way out of proportion. I love TheMister more today than I did on Valentine’s Day anyway.
- If the Golden Rule says you should do unto others as you’d have others do unto you, what would the Silver and Bronze rules say? The Silver Rule would be that when people do something kind for you in traffic, you have to wave or at least ACKNOWLEDGE their kind action. I let you into my lane while merging? Wave at me … make me realize you noticed. The Bronze rule would be that kids shouldn’t be on leashes – ever. That’s what hands are for. (Those leash-backpacks drive me CRAZY!)
